This class will introduce students to the vibrant, versatile medium of pastels. Emphasis will be on understanding values, color harmonies and composition in order to learn effective expressive painting. This enjoyable class will be for beginners in pastel, though some drawing experience is recommended. Hamilton will begin each day with a demonstration and then students will also work from a still life set up and/or from reference photos. Much individual attention will be given as well as helpful critiques.
