Brown Bag: ITALY - Art Cities of the Veneto (NE) & Coastal Villages of the Cinque Terre
Thursday 18 March 2010, 12:30pm

George King (photographer) and Nancy Nesewich (tour guide) spent the month of October 2009 in Northern Italy; with George in the Northeast, and Nancy alone in the Cinque Terre. Byzantium lives on in Ravenna; its mosaics are world class. While the northeast cities are awash in stunning architecture and art, the northwest coast offers quite the opposite. Here, mountains drop down steeply to the sea, where tiny fishing villages perch precariously. The best known group of five, the Cinque Terre, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. This event is sponsored by Village Books.
