Northwest Women Artists, 1880-1950 - Reviving Reputations

An illustrated slide lecture by David F. Martin. Martin is co-owner of Martin-Zambito Fine Art in Seattle, WA, an arts researcher and historian who has documented the art history of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest since 1986. Many of the artists he has focused on are women, Japanese Americans and other minorities with established national and international reputations during the period 1890-1960. He is former Program Director for the American Art Council at the Seattle Art Museum and serves on the Art Advisory Board for the Governor's Mansion Foundation. For three years he served as regional President of the Northwest Chapter of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C.
