This class is for pastellists who want to further enhance their skills and learn another approach. Students will experiment with doing underwashes (on Wallis paper) to give a wonderful liveliness and multicolored ground on which to begin their pastel painting. The emphasis will be in seeing correct values, beautiful color, good composition, as well as lively expression. Hamilton will begin each day with a demonstration of landscape painting (from her reference material) and then students can work from their own photographs. Much individual attention will be given, as well as helpful critiques. Register through Bellingham Parks and Recreation Office at 3424 Meridian Street or by credit card over the phone at 778-7000. Registration closes February 22. Clock hours are available for teachers.
