



THE FAMILY INTERACTIVE GALLERY (the FIG) is the Pacific Northwest's newest family attraction. With a variety of art-based activities in a dramatic setting that connects visitors to our region's history and environment, the FIG promises a fun and engaging experience for the whole family.
Using red, blue and green theater lights, kids create a rainbow of colored shadows as they move and dance in front of the lights in the illumination activity area.

Against the backdrop of a photograph of people camping at the turn of the century in the Pacific Northwest (from the Museum's collection) a little boy takes advantage of the variety of props and costumes to explore his inner camper.
Artistic Focus: Stories in Art, Narrative Art, Critical Viewing
Toddlers 2 1/2 and younger crawl, climb or walk under, over and through a variety of level changes and textural experiences in the Art Naturally zone. The enclosed area contains windows with artworks, mirrors and peek-a-boo holes to the gallery.
Artistic Focus: Color, Shapes, Size, Scale, Texture
A forced air blow lets visitors test how different forms move, fly and drop. They can also add colors and forced air to a second unit, which is closed and sealed, changing color and motion by adjusting the speed.
