BIRDS OF WASHINGTON
See the Whatcom Museum’s amazing collection of more than 500 mounted birds. The guided tour focuses on birds in Washington state and in your own backyard. Learn about water and shore birds, birds of prey and owls, habitat and adaptation. See the smallest and the largest bird egg, hear bird calls, and more! An optional bird-watching walk along Whatcom Creek estuary is available. (45 minutes - 75 minutes)
SUSTAINABLE BUILDING
We are in the process of developing new tours and curriculum centered on sustainability, with the Musuem buildings as the focal point. Learn about a range of design, building and construction strategies that conserve water, energy and other natural resources, and promote better human and planet health. Stay tuned!
SPARK bonus! When coming with two or more classes, you can schedule tours to rotate between the SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention (formerly AMRE) and the Whatcom Museum. For more information about SPARK tours and schedules contact Anne Bargetz at (360) 738-3886.
