History
The Whatcom Children's Museum opened to the public on January 7, 1989. Then known as the Children's Museum Northwest, it became a division of the Whatcom Museum of History & Art in March, 1992. This step enabled the Children's Museum to continue to expand its exhibits and relationships with other institutions.

In 1995, a full-scale renovation was carried out, demonstrating tremendous community support in the donation of labor, materials and monies. The building that houses the Whatcom Children's Museum was purchased in 1999 and dedicated as the George S. Graham building on September 30, 2000.
