In conjunction with Whatcom Reads, join us as we explore early photographic technology, similar to that used by Eowyn Ivey in her book “To the Bright Edge of the World.” In this intergenerational workshop, participants will learn about the beginnings of photography and make their own camera obscura and cyanotype film. Fun for ages 8 to 80 (and beyond!) All materials provided. Maximum class size is 12 people.
We’ll provide the pieces to create a two-lens camera obscura with a removable screen. Participants will mix their own blueprint paper and let it dry. Each participant will get to take home their camera and paper to make their very own cyanotype photos.
Need to get out of the house after all these snow days? We’re now accepting walk-in registrations! Come see us Saturday.
Cost: $30 Museum members/$35 non-members
