May is Washington State Arts Education Month, and the Whatcom Museum will be participating in the state-wide celebration by participating in the annual Children’s Art Walk.
While our buildings won’t be open, you can walk past the windows of the Family Interactive Gallery (FIG) of the Lightcatcher building on Flora Street to see artwork displayed from local elementary school students.
Join us from 5–7pm in the Lightcatcher Courtyard for hands-on flower fun with our educators. Visitors of all ages can decorate a compostable flower pot for Mother’s Day, and we’ll fill it with a small flowering plant, while supplies last.
The Whatcom Museum acknowledges that we gather on the traditional territory of the Lhaq’temish – Lummi People – and the Nuxwsá7aq – Nooksack People – who have lived in the Coast Salish region from time immemorial. The Museum honors our relationship with all of our Coast Salish neighbors and our shared responsibilities to their homeland where we all reside today.
