Join the Community Ukulele Players (CUP) for songs of the season, including standard, as well as unusual songs. CUP is a group of 24 devoted ukulele players and singers who have been performing together for more than five years now. In addition to bringing music to community care centers for years, they have performed at the Mt. Baker Theatre’s membership pre-show events, at a Museum member preview reception, and most recently with several performances at Bar Cicotti at the Museum’s Lightcatcher building. They practice weekly under the direction of Linda Henderson. See CUP’s “The Ukulele Tree” in the Rotunda Room of Old City Hall as part of Deck the Old City Hall festivities.
The Whatcom Museum acknowledges that we gather on the traditional territory of the Lhaq’temish – Lummi People – and the Nuxwsá7aq – Nooksack People – who have lived in the Coast Salish region from time immemorial. The Museum honors our relationship with all of our Coast Salish neighbors and our shared responsibilities to their homeland where we all reside today.
