Stories entertain us, teach us, and unite us. Join the Whatcom Museum in celebrating the art of storytelling this spring with our Family Activity Day. Bring your family and friends to explore our unique identities and sense of place through a variety of activities, including puppet making, story stones, poetry, balloon animals, and performances by Pappenspiel puppet theater and Bellingham Repertory Dance company. The Museum will unveil the “Story Dome,” a mobile story-recording booth that will give visitors an opportunity to record oral responses to questions inspired by the exhibition, Conversations Between Collections, which relate to personal experiences of place. All ages are welcome to this community event! $3 general admission/members free
Note: Due to recent health concerns, we’ll now be offering balloon animals in place of face painting.
Generous support for the Story Dome project is provided by Art Bridges. Additional support for Family Activity Day is provided by Boundary Bay Brewing Company.
