The FIG Studio is a self-guided, self-exploratory play-to-learn, make-and-take space for young inquisitive minds to imagine, create, and innovate. Children and their guardians/parents are invited to explore an assortment of craft-making materials to paint, color, cut, draw, or sculpt an imaginative work of art.  All ages welcome. Included with admission/Members free.

March 14 – 25: Leprechaun Pot o’ Gold

Learn the legends behind St. Patrick’s Day and leprechauns—Irish fairies that trick treasure hunters with gold coins—then, create a treasure-trove of clay coins to fill the pot o’ gold that leprechauns are known to leave at the end of rainbows.

March 28 – April 8: Jeweled Objects of Murano, Italy: Bedazzling Glass Beads

Come, be dazzled by our Jeweled Objects of Desire exhibit and then make your very own jewelry beads from paper. Learn how glass is blown and molded to create some of the world’s most brilliant jeweled objects, like those made famous in Murano, Italy.

April 11 – 22: Upcycled Art: Found Objects Prints

Every day is Earth Day. Let’s celebrate the week leading up to April 22—Earth Day 2018—by turning recycled materials into upcycled works of art on paper.

April 25 – 29: Create Animated Cartoons

Bring your favorite cartoon character to life in this easy and fun step-by-step drawing lesson.
