Little Sprouts Learning is a unique, pre-scholastic, learn-through-play program. Led by an educator, Little Sprouts features hands-on experiments and imaginative make-and-take home projects designed to nurture young minds and develop a good understanding of core literacy concepts, including art, history, math, and science. Dec. 6 & 8: Slimy Coin Counting
Enjoy a sensory experience squishing and squeezing slime while digging for copper—pennies that is! Count and add up your treasure in this fun, gooey math game.
Dec. 13 & 15: Build a Snow Creature
How can we teach children basic math and finance skills during the winter? With snow, of course! Practice counting, spending, and saving and create a snowwoman, snowman, snow children, or snow pet of your very own.
Dec. 20 & 22: Melting Evergreens
While some of us are busy decorating evergreen trees for the holidays, FIG littles will be melting them! What is the best way to melt an evergreen? Little hands will squeeze water, vinegar, and orange soda on baking soda trees to find out. Will the evergreens fizz, turn color, or stand tall and strong?
Dec. 27 & 29: Passport to France: Joyeux Noël
We know Christmas has past, but get your passports ready Little Sprouts, it’s time to travel to France to learn all about their traditional Noël (Christmas) celebrations. Discover the legend of Père Noël (Father Christmas) and a unique assortment of French holiday traditions, decorations, and cuisine. Learn why one of the oldest and tastiest holiday dishes is a “wooden” log called bûche de Noël!
