This fall marks the 100th anniversary of Bellingham’s famous Charlie Chaplin look-alike contest, and to celebrate we want to send you back to the 1920s to join the fun. Mark your calendars for an evening of vintage glitz and glam from the comfort of your home. Our annual fundraising gala is going virtual again this year as we continue to adapt to the challenges of the pandemic. We hope that you will join us and support the Museum’s efforts to provide high-quality art, nature, and history exhibitions and programming for our community.
Auctions open for bidding on Friday, Oct. 29, and close during the live-streamed program on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 6pm. Tune in early to watch a classic Charlie Chaplin silent movie before the program.
The Museum is excited to be partnering with Bar Cicotti to offer Wine & Dine packages. Pre-purchase by Thursday, Oct. 21, and enjoy a bottle of wine and decadent charcuterie spread while watching the program on Nov. 4.
Leading up to the live-streamed event, be on the lookout at Old City Hall for the chance to take a “vintage” Charlie Chaplin look-alike photo and be added to our community re-creation of that famous image. Can we get more Charlies than they did in 1921?
The Vintage Hollywood Gala & Auction is presented by Peoples Bank with support from Heritage Bank, US Bank, LeMaster Graphics, and Capitol City Press.
While the Museum was originally hoping to present an in-person Gala & Auction, due to the continuously changing circumstances of the pandemic, we’re switching gears and excited to offer this virtual experience.
