Note: The Family Interactive Gallery (FIG) is reopen at 30% capacity. Learn more about hours of operation and what to expect HERE. We also invite you to try our virtual activities by exploring our FIG at Home page. Some of our in-person educator-led activities such as Science Lab, ARTstarts, and Music Makers, as well as FIG birthday parties and special family events have been temporarily suspended due to the pandemic. Stay tuned for the return of these activities in the future.
Our weekly drop-in schedule features a variety of educator- and self-led activities that introduce early learners to basic STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) concepts. While aimed at preschool and younger elementary aged students, activities are suitable for all ages, including adults! FIG activities are included with admission and free to Museum members.
FIG Art Studio – Thursdays – Saturdays, noon – 4:30pm: The FIG Studio is open, with limited capacity, for creative play and self-guided activities prepared by our FIG staff. The FIG Studio is a make-and-take space for young inquisitive minds to create using a variety of art supplies. Each week the Studio features a different theme of art exploration. Visit the Artist’s Corner, which focuses on artists from around the world, and offers young guests an opportunity to explore a variety of materials and mediums to create art inspired by the featured artist. Check our FIG calendar for weekly theme selection.
Storytime Series – Thursdays at 3pm: Storytime transports little ones with big imaginations to far-away places. Join us for our storytime where a new book related to our art activity themes will be selected each week. Beginning Thurs., Nov. 4, our storytime will move to 10:30am.
