Gail Tremblay is an artist, writer, and activist of Onondaga and Micmac ancestry who has lived in Washington for more than twenty years. She currently teaches at Evergreen State College. This body of work — baskets made from 35mm and 16mm film — references global indigenous issues.

The artists writes: "I enjoyed the notion of recycling film and gaining control over a medium that had historically been used by both Hollywood and documentary film makers to stereotype American Indians. I relished the irony of making film take on the traditional fancy stitch patterns of our ash splint and sweet grass baskets."
