Bellingham artist Dale Gottlieb creates books, paintings, and rugs
inspired by the African art collection she viewed in the Brooklyn Museum as a child. A close examination of her bright—colored work reveals a complexity of issues and emotions. This work is the study for the rug displayed on the next record. It was included in her exhibition, Story Rugs/Tales of Freedom, which was held at the Whatcom Museum in 2003—2004.
